Job Description
People Business Partners play a vital role in driving the people agenda by partnering with the leadership teams they support to engage and enable our workforce to deliver business goals and mitigate people risk.
A key focus of the role is to contribute to and implement the People strategy, lead local People projects, and implement people change and transformation programmes that support the development of the business. They also have a key role in driving the development of management and leadership capabilities.
What you will do
People Business Partners are an integral part of the senior leadership team for the business areas they support and as such will contribute to broader business strategy discussions and partner with SLT colleagues to ensure business plans are delivered and performance commitments are delivered. In collaboration with their SLT colleagues they are the custodians of NHSPS culture and play a lead role in improving colleague engagement. Other focuses of the role include:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide counsel, coaching, and strategic insight.
- Develop and implement strategic people plans and lead local projects.
- Drive the development of management and leadership capabilities.
- Lead complex change and transformation programmes.
- Ensure adherence to the performance calendar and drive a high-performance culture.
- Manage talent and succession programmes to develop and retain top talent.
- Enhance colleague engagement and role model NHSPS values.
Who you are
- Multi-sector, multi-site senior HR experience
- Partnering with senior leaders to deliver People strategy and services
- Developing, and delivering change and transformation programmes
- Coaching and mentoring senior leaders to develop leadership and people management skills
- Ownership of local performance, engagement, talent and development initiatives
- Managing complex employee relations in a unionised environment
- Operationalising EDI strategy to drive positive change
- Good understanding of how People strategies contribute to the delivery of business strategy and drive business performance
- Best practice talent, performance, career, and engagement knowledge
- Employment law including TUPE
- Good knowledge across a range of People systems
- Data literate and advanced excel skills
Throughout the above you will demonstrate effective communication skills, planning and organisational skills and attention to detail.
You will take initiative and consistently drive for improvement and high-quality. You will inspire confidence and empower others to achieve personal and organisational goals by role modelling appropriate values and behaviours by coaching and developing others.
You will hold qualifications that include the following:
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent (or working towards)
- Degree level/MSc in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience
Where you’ll be
We have a hybrid model, there will be travel across England involved with this specific role.
