A bit about the role...

We have a great opportunity for a Mobile Facilities Maintenance Gas Engineer to join our team based in Melksham Community Hospital. The salary on offer is from £33,000 - £43,000 depending on experience.  

We also offer; 27 days holiday not including bank holidays, access to group personal pension plan including SMART contributions into which the company will contribute up to 6% towards your savings, training and development opportunities, NHS discounts, on call allowance and van issued with the role. 

As a Facilities Maintenance Gas Engineer, you will be attending and completing reactive works and delivering planned maintenance tasks within the NHS Property Services portfolio. The types of PPM we cover include gas boilers, gas water heaters, gas pipework testing, gas air heaters and gas radiant tube heaters. You will also ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies, procedures, and legislation to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance. 

This role will require you to demonstrate the following Qualifications and Experience: ​​​​​​​

City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Gas Engineering 

Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding in a variety of plant equipment such as Boiler & heating plant, pumps, ventilation, plumbing & minor building fabric.  

Core skills must be valid & gas safe registration.  

Core skills to include COCN1, CCN1, TPCP1, CODNCO1.  

Appliances CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1  

An understanding of SFG20 and delivering of works to a timescale 

Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices, IOSH is desirable  

Full clean driving licence 

It is expected that you will be competent in general engineer works, with a multi-skilled background or bias towards mechanical and electrical trades with relevant qualifications. Ideally, you also have PASMA / IPAF certification.
