We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transaction Appraisal Manager to join our team in on a national basis. The salary on offer is up to £60,000 per annum dependent on experience, with eligibility for our bonus scheme of up to 10% a 6% matched pension. we are looking for a candidate who looks to challenge the status quo, and aims to improve process and decision making. This role deputises to the Transaction Appraisal Lead within the Finance Decision Support Team and as such requires a confident decision maker who can articulate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders. The role holder will provide insightful and influential analysis to assist management to drive well informed decisions, mitigating risk and realise value potential. The role will support the Lead in the management of a highly competent team of analysts to deliver robust governance of real estate decisions with NHSPS through the Initial Approval Process (IAP).
You will drive the review and scrutiny process of the business cases for each transaction that come through the transaction appraisal process, to ensure risks, profit and loss impact and financial exposure to the company are factually correct and highlighted. Driving continuous improvement in the process and outcomes and ensuring that internal NHS PS governance is adhered to is key for this position.
The role holder will manage, understand, and challenge the insight produced from the IAP process and the reporting created from this data for key stakeholders; and support and develop a highly motivated and competent team, including mentoring and coaching of the analysts. Developing and maintaining effective and trusting relationships with key stakeholders across the business is crucial for this position, and you will work with the Lead to drive optimisation of the current processes, through simplification, automation and ensuring the relevant review profile, matches the risk and complexity of the transaction. You will drive continual training, collaboration and support where required for all parts of the Business in the IAP process and what is required for an internal business case review; deputising for the Lead when required.
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Qualifications via training in a corporate environment - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Post qualified experience in audit, business partnering or financial planning and analysis
- Evidence of strong working relationships and leadership of an effective team
- Real estate knowledge desirable but not essential
- Commercial awareness
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to operate under pressure, juggle priorities and to deal with multiple often competing requests
