About the role
We have a great opportunity for a Soft FM Specialist (Security & Car Parking). This role can be based anywhere within the UK. The salary range £57,000 - £68,000, with an added car allowance of £3,500.
Senior managers play an important role in delivering the NHSPS strategy. Typically, they contribute to and lead the delivery of specific elements of the strategy and will lead teams made up of managers, team contributors and specialists. Senior managers often have specialised professional skills and knowledge, and many lead large, multi-discipline operational teams.
Their remit includes:
- Communicating the NHSPS and functional vision and strategy, cascading key organisational messages to keep teams informed
- Contributing to functional and team strategies, developing short and longer-term plans for the team
- Role modelling the values and behaviours and setting the cultural tone of the team
- Enabling collaboration across the function and wider business
- Building organisational resilience through spotting and developing talent within and beyond their own teams, attracting high calibre people to fill vacancies and retaining great people
- Leading and embedding change and other organisational initiatives
- Tackling inefficiencies and driving continuous improvement
- Embracing, adopting, and embedding technology to enable business outcomes
Senior managers are expected to have a broad understanding of the business and be able to see beyond their functional area. They can see the bigger picture and can connect across the business to collaborate and make decisions in the best interest of the business. They should have good understanding of the internal and external customer journeys relating to their role and seek to drive continuous improvement across these.
Senior managers may be invited to contribute to cross-business working groups and support colleague development across the wider business. Future SLT may be identified and developed from this group.
The primary purpose of the Soft FM Specialist role is to specifically support to Soft FM delivery teams within the four operating regions within the Delivery function. They will also be required to provide support and expertise to stakeholders in other business functions too.
As well as their specialist function, the role holder may also be asked to lead as a specialist in other areas of Soft FM for which training and support will be provided. They will provide a broad spectrum of support to ensure that the regional teams operate in line with the required service and legislative standards.
As the subject matter expert for Security & Car Parking services, the role is responsible for the development, standardisation and continuous improvement of the service for NHSPS nationally, ensuring that service delivery to customers is optimised and demonstrates value for money. The role holder will design and implement effective governance processes to ensure that required performance standards are delivered nationally.
Collaboration with other business functions and stakeholders will be key to the success of this role and therefore the role holder must have the ability to build trusting relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.

- Accountable for defining and executing the Security & Car Parking strategy nationally
- Develop, maintain and execute the role out of service standard operating procedures, polices and processes, ensuring all colleagues are trained in-line with the procedures
- Develop, implement, and maintain governance structure for the service(s), ensuring compliance with Security Industry Authority (SIA), Data Protection legislation & regulations and the relevant NHS/Industry standards, regulations and legislation
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of service KPI’s and for ensuring a fit for purpose data capture process
- Champion and lead ‘communities of best practise’ to drive continuous improvement and the sharing of best practice
- Continuously work with industry bodies and experts to stay abreast of best practice and innovation, and implement that into service propositions
- Provide leadership, coaching and expertise to management teams to ensure robust operational improvement plans are in place and delivered
- Analyse data from service delivery activities and provide recommendations for change/improvements
- Lead the evaluation, introduction and impact of new products, systems or processes for the delivery of services to customers.
- Undertake audits of selected sites as required, ensuring that service performance is optimised, risks are escalated, and quality standards are maintained at all times
- Contribute to the management of relationships with key suppliers to ensure delivery against contractual and commercial commitments, managing in-life performance and working with colleagues centrally to define the strategic direction for supplier support
- Liaise with the Environment & Energy Manager and other colleagues engaged in identifying and implementing green plan initiatives the NHSPS Green Plan
- Support the training strategy for Delivery teams by liaising with the Learning & Development team and other key stakeholders
- Demonstrate Health & Safety leadership behaviours to continually develop our Safety culture and Support the Health and Safety strategy by ensuring the implementation and continuous improvement of Health and Safety procedures and processes within Soft FM services
