We have a fantastic opportunity for a Regional Communications Manager to join our team based in our Midlands & East region. The salary on offer is from £38,000 – £42,000 with £3,000 car allowance, and eligibility for our bonus scheme up to 10%.
Reporting into the Senior External Communications Manager, the Regional Communications Manager supports the Midlands & East region to deliver proactive announcements of NHSPS’ work to local, regional and trade media; proactive stakeholder engagement with local and regional political and community stakeholders; and managing reactive issues that may occur. The role is highly visible within the region working closely with senior colleagues to protect and promote the NHSPS brand. The role holder should have experience in media and/or stakeholder engagement as well as a wider awareness of the full marketing and communications mix.
The role holder will be responsible for drafting communications such as press releases, stakeholder engagement letters, briefing packs and others as appropriate; preparing communications for customers who use NHSPS buildings in region; and supporting with media relations and MP enquiries, drafting responses in a timely manner. You will monitor media for relevant coverage and industry news, sharing with regional colleagues as appropriate; support in planning communications through using the communications calendar; and work with colleagues across the marketing and communications function to develop content for multiple channels, ensuring a flow of regional stories to internal communications.
It is vital that candidates have experience of media handling such as drafting press releases and of producing high quality communications for external stakeholders, as well as experience of using CRM systems to manage engagement. You must have knowledge of the local and national political landscape including parliamentary processes; knowledge of stakeholder management processes; and a wider knowledge of marketing and communications mix.
The successful candidate will have strong written and presentation skills; the ability to effectively prioritise tasks, especially when under pressure; and the ability to handle challenging relationships and manage difficult conversations when necessary. The ability to build relationships and gain trust with colleagues and external groups alike is key, as is flexibility with the ability to react quickly to different priorities. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have the ability to use their own initiative, as well as being a strong team player.
Though not essential, membership of a relevant organisation such as CIPR/CIM/PRCA will be beneficial. This is a hybrid role and will involve regular travel in and around the region, as well as occasional travel to our HQ in Canary Wharf. Whilst it would be hugely beneficial to be located in the region, it’s not essential.
