We have a fantastic opportunity for a PMO Manager to join our team on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract. The successful applicant can be based anywhere in England and the salary on offer is from £60,000 - £70,000 with a £3,500 car allowance.
Job Summary Specifics
To set up and manage an effective programme management office function to ensure the Operations Business Improvement Programme is compliant with NHSPS project and programme management best practice and governance and to support delivery of the programme and projects outcomes and benefits.
Main purpose / scope of the Programme Management Office lead role
The PMO Manager will provide programme and project structure and will cover a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of effective change and realisation of benefits. The role will enable the smooth running of the programme through the operation of project / programme management processes, and the co-ordination of actions and activities aligned to NHSPS project and programme management best practice and governance. Effective working relationships will be developed through collaboration and engagement with senior executives, the programme manager, project managers and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively liaising with project / programme work-streams and contributing to overall planning, data analysis, problem solving and project / programme co-ordination.
- Monitoring progress against plans with the work-streams, liaising with the programme manager to ensure the plan remains on track.
- Ensure that formal governance processes are applied for project reporting.
- Ensure effective recording of progress in line with the reporting framework and escalating issues of concern to the programme manager and other stakeholders as required.
- Scheduling of Programme and Project review meetings / calls.
- Capturing and issuing key notes / actions arising from review meetings and steering committees.
- Set up and maintain project files and manage user access permissions on the SharePoint workspace; establish document control procedures.
- Supporting the co-ordination of work-stream inputs to the programme business case including project costs and benefits (revenue).
- Collect and report on actuals data and forecasts, provide and update project / programme plans.
- Track and monitor programme and project dependencies and interdependencies between other programmes and projects and the broader business.
- Prepare reports and record evidence of project reviews and stage gate approvals.
- Monitor analyse and co-ordinate RAID logs, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, changes, decisions, and lessons learned.
- Manage the coordination, approvals, and monitoring of project change requests.
- Undertake, track, and provide reports for resource profiling.
- Support in stakeholder management including delivery of appropriate communications.
- Manage escalations as required to ensure the programme plan remains on track.
- Ensure adoption of best practice aligned to the Project Management Centre of Excellence / NHSPS project lifecycle and supporting toolkit
