Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team on a national basis. The salary on offer is up to £80,000.

The Customer Programme requires a Project Manager to help enable, implement and embed the changes required to aid organisational maturity to be more customer centric and enhance the overall experience from end to end.

This role will drive a key project(s) to ensure that customers are at the heart of our organisation, as part of our maturity enhancements in the customer experience. The Project Manager will aid delivery of the organisational design, aligned with our service proposition, customer journeys, supporting engagement model and commercial framework to support our corporate objective to establish NHSPS as a key NHS Estates Partner.

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that project management best practice is being delivered consistently including Planning, progress reporting, risk and issues management, dependencies, benefits management and change control. The Project Manager will be required to work with Programme Manager, PMO other Project Managers, business stakeholder as required to ensure delivery.

The successful candidate will define project scope, objective and outcomes and the supporting activities / deliverables; prepare, manage and update project plans, track and report progress against the plan; and identify, lead and support a project team to deliver assigned milestones and activities. You will undertake and track project resource profiling; identify and manage project dependencies and interdependencies between other projects and programmes and the broader business; and manage the coordination, approvals and monitoring of project change requests.

The role holder will identify, manage and monitor risks and issues; identify, manage and monitor stakeholders including delivery of appropriate communications; and apply effective change management activity to ensure awareness and adoption of change and usage of new systems and processes. You must manage escalations as required to ensure the plan remains on track; initiate extra activities and management interventions wherever gaps are identified or issues arise; and carry out progress reporting for the project at regular intervals in line with defined governance.

Management of project budget (Cost / Benefits) on behalf of the programme manager and or sponsor is a key part of this role, as well as working with the business change manager or equivalent on the transition to BAU. It is crucial to adopt and help shape best practice aligned to the Project Management Centre of Excellence / NHSPS project lifecycle and supporting toolkit; lead development of the required service documentation and other components to successfully set up a framework; and lead development of a compliant tender submissions for public sector frameworks.​​​​​​​

To succeed, candidates must have APM / Prince2 / Agile or other Project Management qualification, as well as experience of project delivery in complex environments. Knowledge of business transformation, risk and issue management and project planning is key. Experience of having managed a project budget (cost / benefits) is required. It would be beneficial for candidates to have experience or knowledge surrounding Customer Transformation projects.
