We have a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our team based in London. The salary on offer is from £55,000 - £60,000.
This is a role within the Finance team based in nationally. The role of the Tax Manager will principally be to take ownership for the preparation of the annual Corporation Tax return, quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS return. Additionally, the role holder will assist on various tax advisory projects led by the Senior Tax Manager.
This role will be responsible for managing the corporation tax compliance process and ensuring that all relevant information is supplied to Ernst & Young to prepare and submit the company’s tax return to HMRC on a timely basis. You will work closely with the construction team who populate the capital allowances template once a project is completed; document and schedule the capital allowances additions; and allocate additions to the relevant capital allowance pools, and consolidating backup.
This role will be responsible for troubleshooting any software or accounting problems and liaising with Financial Systems team for enhancements; preparing tax figures, disclosures and tax notes for financial statements; and producing estimated CT computation on a monthly basis. You will research and document tax sensitive issues as required.
To succeed in this role, candidates should be able to evaluate the effects of new accounting principles on current processes and policies while functioning intimately with internal and external units and prepare appropriate policy / update papers for ExCo / Board / DHSC, offering advice and guidance around non-financial aspects together with preparing the key financial metrics. The successful candidate will communicate financial and tax compliance data to groups of senior managers and external stakeholders, advising on tax compliance issues to non- financial managers. The post holder will be able to communicate this in such a way as it is understood clearly by all parties. You will also be responsible for managing the development of the Senior Tax Accountant, support her to achieve her goals and have effective 1-1s. Hit mid-year and year-end review deadlines.
A recognised Finance professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is required for this position (part qualified will be considered). It would be beneficial to be a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or a member of the Association of Tax Technicians.
