Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Lead to join our team based nationally with flexible working on a 12 month FTC. The salary on offer is £60,000.

This role will be integral to the successful implementation of NHSPS Data Strategy

This role will develop, and lead data activity required to submit and digitise NHSPS Data returns, including data elicitation, capture, validation, improvement activities, and coordinate SMEs, Stewards, and Owners.

The Data Lead is responsible for defining and qualifying data attributes and rules across the data estate. This role will develop data lineage, glossaries, diagrams, data flows and mappings to describe the relevant data items across the organisation.

The Data Lead will lead on programme data discovery analysis, recommend solutions, and coordinate actions across several workstreams.  It will lead both project and ad-hoc data activities. This role will lead on the continued development and maintenance of the critical data required to create NHSPS data returns and ensure the successful transition into the business


  • Lead all data and process activities required to ensure the successful submission of data returns
  • Lead data analysis activities within the Data Transformation Programme
  • Support the implementation of the data return technical solution
  • Interrogate databases using a wide range of data discovery and analysis tools and techniques.
  • Execute and lead validation, verification, and investigation activities to identify root causes for data errors.

What will help you to succeed in this role?


  • Experience of data profiling and analysis to identify and resolve data issues and risks.
  • Experience of undertaking data elicitation workshops (capturing data flows, mapping, definitions, and data lineage)
  • Experience of developing and creating reports.
  • Experience of writing SQL queries.
  • Experience of deploying formal data processes.
