Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Governance & Quality Analyst to join our team based in London. The salary on offer is between £55,000 - £60,000 on an 18 month FTC!

The Data Governance & Quality Analyst is responsible for defining, monitoring, reporting, and analysing data quality across the data estate. This role will develop and coordinate data quality, monitoring processes and trackers, identify data quality issues, undertake root-cause analysis, recommend permanent solutions, take a lead on monitoring data improvement activities, and coordinate actions coming out of the Data Governance Committee such as, developing data catalogues, glossaries, matrices, diagrams, and data flow mappings as relevant to describe the relevant data items across the organisation.

Core elements of the role:

  • Regularly measure, report and present findings on data quality controls to data owners, data stewards, the Data Steering Groups, Data Governance Committee, and Data Governance Board.
  • Interrogate databases using a wide range of data discovery and analysis tools and techniques to check data integrity.
  • Execute verification and investigation activities to identify root causes for data errors. Define and put in place data quality metrics and controls across the operational data systems to monitor data quality.
  • Experience of deploying formal data quality processes.
  • Hands-on experience working with Microsoft BI solutions (including SQL Server and SSIS).

This role will require you to demonstrate the following Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related IT Science or Statistical subject
  • Proficient in writing SQL.
  • Knowledge of data management and data governance processes.
  • Experience of data profiling to identify data quality issues.
  • Experience of undertaking data cleansing routines.
  • Experience of developing data quality initiatives and creating reports.
