Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cyber Security Lead to join our team based nationally with hybrid working. The salary on offer is £75,000 with eligibility for our annual 10% bonus. 

This is a hands-on role that is focused on the live Service yet also engages in with Architecture and Product Delivery, working with DevOps to ensure security is part of our design.

The role of the Cyber Security Lead owns and facilitates all technical security related duties; managing monitoring, analytics and cyber incident response to the business using a variety of industry-standard technologies across multiple platforms. The selected candidate will be expected to be an SME in using these tools to proactively respond to the cyber threat landscape based on continuous threat hunting and cyber intelligence.

This role is responsible for delivering reliable and expert cyber security analysis, insights, recommendations, threat hunting, reporting and cyber incident response to the business. The role also reviews and approves security related requests from the business, including geolocation, removable media, application and other access. Other example areas include software installation, and email blocking, release and extraction. Whilst the Cyber Security function works inside Service Management, it often collaborates with the Legal and People teams.

Key Responsibilities


  • The Cyber Security Lead manages the cyber incident response process. This involves identifying and detecting any threats, responding to alerts, and any prevention and recovery using both on-premise and cloud security tools.
  • Supports other teams on dealing with security incidents.
  • Performs forensics activities where required within the cyber incident response process, utilising standard industry tools.
  • Maintains and updates the internal incident response framework.
  • Maintains and continually configures monitoring tools to reduce volume of false positives, and integrates security tools where possible.
