Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an External Communications Manager to join our national team. The salary on offer is up to £50,000 + 10% performance based bonus & 6% matched pension.
About the role:
The External Communications Manager supports the delivery of proactive announcements of NHSPS’ work to local, regional and trade media; proactive customer and stakeholder engagement with local and regional political and community stakeholders; and managing reactive issues that may occur.
The role is highly visible, working closely with senior colleagues to protect and promote the NHSPS brand. The role holder should have experience in media and/or stakeholder engagement as well as a wider awareness of the full marketing and communications mix.
You will be responsible for:
· Drafting communications such as press releases, stakeholder engagement letters, briefing packs and others as appropriate
· Preparing communications for customers who use NHSPS buildings in region
· Supporting with media relations, drafting responses in a timely manner
· Responding to crisis communications situations including representing communications on Major Incident Management calls
· Monitoring media for relevant coverage and industry news, sharing with regional colleagues as appropriate
The is an excellent opportunity for someone with Public Relations experience, desirably from a political background, to have a direct impact on patients and communities across England.
What you will bring to the role:
Experience of media handling such as drafting press releases
Experience of producing high quality communications for external stakeholders
Experience of using CRM systems to manage engagement
Knowledge of the local and national political landscape including parliamentary processes
Knowledge of stakeholder management processes
