Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role is predominantly remote however, travel to our Canary Wharf office will be required 1-2 times a month. This is a permanent role, the salary on offer is £45,417.75 - £52,766.70.

About the role: 

Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for operating, maintaining, and continually improving the infrastructure according to agreed procedures.
This involves monitoring performance and undertaking configuration, installation and upgrades. Involvement in planning resources, scheduling work, monitoring progress against schedules, and responding to alerts, system failures and user/customer requests. The infrastructure includes all hardware and software either on-premises or virtualised and provisioned as cloud services, as well as Identity, DNS, and other technical platform services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take proactive steps to up skill on areas of infrastructure where lacking knowledge to support other team members and share knowledge.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing the root cause of errors within NHSPS Cloud Environments
  • Work closely with 3rd party vendors to implement fixes, updates and enhancements for our various applications and ensure the Change Management process is strictly followed.
  • Upskill and training other Team members to support all applications to ensure coverage of the systems by multiple personnel, and so there is not a single point of failure.
  • Working closely with Product Specialists, business stakeholders, Developers, and 3rd party vendors in a property management environment.
  • Document and track case histories, issues, and actionable steps taken using IT Service Management Tool

What you will bring to the role:

  • Demonstrable experience in either the growth or implementation of a similar role
  • Previous experience working in at least Infrastructure Support (4+ years)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience - scripting and automation via AZ CLI/PowerShell, Bicep/Terra
  • Excellent Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems, Azure Platform, and Azure PaaS services knowledge
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and Exchange
  • Excellent communication at all levels, both written and oral
  • In depth experience of incident, request, change and problem management
