Job Description

NHS Property services are looking for a fully qualified accountant to work within our Finance team, based in London.  The role is hybrid.  The salary on offer for this role is up to £55,000 depending upon experience.

Please note, this is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

About the role.Anchor

This is a role within the Finance team is based in London. The individual will be responsible for managing the delivery of the agreed Internal Audit programme. They will also help with managing the relationship with the third-party Internal Audit programme provider, ensure the Internal Audit is performed in line with planned timetables and ensure recommendations and audit actions are closed in line with deadlines. Formalise internal audit offering in a formal policy which clearly sets out expectations.

The individual will be responsible for ensuring NHSPS meets its tax compliance requirements. This include being proactive and taking the necessary measures to ensure the business meets its Value Added Tax (VAT), Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and Corporation Tax (CT600) returns are filed on time and the associated reports are produced to the highest level of quality.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Fully Qualified Accountant or a (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Qualification
  • Good knowledge of UK tax regulations and tax compliance with particular focus on CT600, VAT, CGT, and CIS
  • Good knowledge of the purpose of policies and policy framework
  • Proven knowledge of Internal Audit and Policy management within a large business
