Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Digital Senior Specialist (FDSS) to join the Digital Strategic Transformation team on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract with a salary up to £75,000. 

About the role: 

The FDSS will support the team in delivering a number of key goals:

• New best practice chart of accounts and supporting services, that enables operational efficiency, value add services and customer satisfaction

• New Finance TOM powered by composable technology ecosystems.

• Strong accounting models, data governance and standards compliance.

• New resilient continuous processes able to deliver accurate reports on-demand.

As such, An authoritative understanding of accounting standards and principles, and how they relate to Finance operational capabilities, such as OTC, P2P, R2R or FP&A are essential for this role. A strong understanding of the rules and workflows that drive Finance sub-process efficiency, month end closures, and reporting, such as statutory statements are also required. As new process and solution designs will be assessed extensively during discovery and implementation phases, having prior experience in either business transformation, solution options analysis, or applying vendor best practices, is required

You will:

• Work with the respective teams and functions to produce requirements artefacts e.g. Process maps, use cases, user story backlogs, solution              options, using standard tools and templates.

• Form and lead working groups to address obtaining requirements for functional capabilities that have been assigned as your area of responsibility      e.g. R2R or Use Cases

• Attend all meetings and workshops planned collaboratively and set by leads such as programme managers, stakeholders, or other analysts.

• Identify opportunities for adding value to our strategic goals, and process improvements, that embraces Finance best practices and enables better      experiences for Customers and Colleagues.


What you will bring to the role:

• University degree with strong analytical or numerical skills requirement

• Accounting Qualification or MBA or equivalent

• Recognised Project management qualification or certification desirable e.g. Prince 2, SAFe or SCRUM

• Demonstrable evidence of leading Finance specialist roles in business or IT projects.

• Delivering Finance capabilities (e.g. OTC, P2P, R2R, FP&A) in a complex environment.

• Finance Solution design with end-to-end processes change management.

• Financial Management systems exposure in a complex environment (e.g. SAP, Workday, Microsoft)

• Delivery frameworks including Scrum, Waterfall and Kanban

• Application and/or software development lifecycles
