Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Metadata Manager to join our national team with a Salary on offer of £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + 10% Bonus.
Metadata Manager will lead on defining metadata and data lineage strategy consistent with the overall data strategy and support its implementation. The post holder will manage the cataloguing and taxonomy of all NHSPS data assets to help understand the relationships between different pieces of data within our various systems. This role will also lead on the continued development and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Glossary.
The successful candidate will:
· Assist with the storage and maintenance of electronically documentation.
· Oversee the maintenance of metadata artefacts, reporting and escalating where appropriate, resolving issues, gaps and inconsistencies.
· Implement metadata management measures in the context of delivering quantifiable improvements.
· Plan and deliver relevant cataloguing, discovery and metadata projects in response to changing priorities and conditions.
· Provide advice and guidance on the use and interoperability of metadata standards between systems.
· Monitor and control the quality of digital content in a range of formats, including image, text, and multimedia.
To be successful in this post you must have:
· Knowledge and experience of a range of current and emerging metadata standards.
· Experience with data modelling, relational databases and writing SQL queries (not essential).
· Working with data mapping and transformations.
· Experience eliciting and capturing data flows and data lineage.
· Practical experience as a Metadata Manage.
