Job Description
At NHS Property Services, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a meaningful impact. As part of our mission to Get, Grow and Keep Great People, we continue to strengthen how we deliver safe, sustainable and financially responsible services across our estate.
We're looking for a highly motivated and commercially minded Senior Transaction Manager to join our Advisory team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of NHS estate transformation, supporting some of the most significant acquisition and disposal programmes across the healthcare sector. Working directly with NHS customers, you'll help shape property strategies, unlock value from estates, and deliver complex transactions that support the future of healthcare services.
About the Role
As a Senior Transaction Manager, you will lead complex property acquisition and disposal projects from inception through to completion. Acting as a trusted advisor to NHS organisations, you'll manage transactions that support service transformation, estate optimisation and long-term strategic objectives. You'll develop business cases, oversee financial appraisals, manage external consultants and advisors, and work closely with legal teams to negotiate transaction agreements. Combining commercial awareness with strong stakeholder engagement, you'll help customers navigate complex decision-making processes within a highly governed public-sector environment. Working closely with NHS customers and internal stakeholders, you will help identify opportunities that unlock value across estate portfolios, support the delivery of healthcare services, and contribute to the effective management of one of the largest property portfolios in the UK.
Who You Are
You are an experienced property professional with a strong background in acquisitions, disposals, estate strategy, development, or asset management. You have experience delivering complex property transactions and are comfortable providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders across a range of organisations. You build trusted relationships quickly and are confident influencing and negotiating at all levels. You're commercially aware, solutions-focused, and able to balance customer requirements with governance, risk and financial considerations. You'll bring strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to develop business cases, assess opportunities, and provide evidence-based recommendations that support investment and property decisions. Experience within the NHS or wider public sector environment would be advantageous, as would an MRICS qualification or equivalent professional accreditation.
