We have a permanent Catering Team Leader role to join our team based at Houghton - Houghton Primary Care Centre Brinkburn Crescent.
- £14.52 per hour, £28,393.00 per annum, pro-rata
- 20 hours per week, hours to be confirmed
- DBS check will be conducted, training will be provided
About the Role
The Catering Team Leader is responsible for the provision of a food and beverage service with supervisory responsibility, delivered in line with health and safety requirements, food hygiene standards, Patient Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) and NHS Property Services policies and procedures.
The role provides day‑to‑day supervision, guidance and support to the catering team, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and at the prescribed times.
Training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising the catering team to ensure delivery of a safe and high‑quality food and beverage service
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, food hygiene standards and organisational policies
- Supporting and monitoring staff performance, providing guidance where required
- Ensuring PLACE standards and food safety requirements are met at all times
- Maintaining service standards and supporting continuous improvement within the catering function
- Acting as a point of contact for day‑to‑day operational issues within the catering service
What we’re looking for
- Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
- Advanced food hygiene processes qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
You will also be able to:
- Supervise and support a team effectively
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Work confidently within a regulated environment
- Maintain standards under pressure
