Job Description

At NHS Property Services, we believe our people are our greatest asset. That’s why we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our People Strategy - Get, Grow, and Keep Great People, is all about building a values-driven culture where colleagues and customers are at the heart of everything we do.

We’re looking for a Business Analyst with a strong finance focus to join our Digital & Data team. This role is all about understanding how our financial processes work today, identifying opportunities to improve them, and helping shape the systems and solutions that support better financial decision-making across the organisation.

Working closely with Finance, Digital, and wider business stakeholders, you’ll translate complex finance needs into clear, actionable requirements, helping us deliver smarter, more efficient, and compliant solutions that support our strategic objectives.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who brings proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with a focus on finance systems or finance-related processes, alongside a strong foundation in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be confident translating complex financial concepts into clear, structured documentation and user requirements, and comfortable working in Agile or iterative delivery environments. Building strong relationships will come naturally to you, enabling you to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior finance colleagues. You’ll also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail, and be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and map finance processes (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, reporting, procurement), identifying opportunities for improvement, including where system enhancements or ERP solutions (e.g. D365) can add value.

  • Translate business and finance requirements into clear technical specifications and work with internal teams and third-party partners to ensure solutions are designed and delivered in line with business needs.

  • Partner with Finance teams to understand priorities, challenges, and opportunities for automation or optimisation, including through system and process improvements.

  • Provide insight into risks, impacts, and feasibility of proposed changes, ensuring solutions are cost-effective, fit for purpose, and aligned to organisational goals.

  • Support the delivery of change initiatives, including contributing to testing activities such as UAT to validate that solutions meet business requirements.

  • Use structured business analysis techniques and tools to improve processes, systems, and data flows.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, bringing ideas and best practice aligned to finance and digital trends.

Where you’ll be

This is a hybrid role with travel across our UK based locations, when required.

What we can offer you

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as a competitive salary we will also offer:

  • 27 days annual leave + 8 days bank holiday with the option to buy additional weeks leave.

  • A Smarter Working Policy, empowering you to choose the location of how and where you work according to your daily activities.

  • Training and development opportunities, providing opportunities for our colleagues to develop and progress their careers at all levels through our Professional Excellence Framework.

  • SMART Pension contribution into which the company will contribute up to 6%

  • A range of flexible benefits, including NHS retail discounts and Cycle to Work Scheme.

  • We have a great Colleague Assistance Programme and offer support for all areas of life.

An organisation with a purpose…

We are an organisation with a passion for giving back. Putting money back into the NHS, raising £150,000 over 3 years for our charity partner Young Lives vs Cancer, supporting colleagues to volunteer within their local communities, and being committed to creating a sustainable working environment on our pledge to become net zero carbon by 2050. We understand that it’s important to feel like the work you do is having a meaningful impact on society, and through our approach to being a responsible business, we make sure that every colleague is given the opportunity to make a difference.

At NHS Property Services, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from disabled people and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace to support your needs. If you require any support or adjustments, please let us know — we’re here to help

We celebrate diversity, and we are working hard to create an inclusive environment where people love to work and can fulfil their potential.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications.
