Job Description

At NHS Property Services, we believe our people are our greatest asset. That’s why we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our People Strategy - Get, Grow, and Keep Great People, is all about building a values-driven culture where colleagues and customers are at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced PMO Reporting and Insights Manager to join NHS Property Services. This is a senior, high impact position with a portfolio wide remit, sitting at manager level and reporting directly into the PMO Transformation Lead.

You’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering high quality portfolio reporting and insights, providing senior leaders with the clarity they need to make informed decisions. Working across a complex change portfolio, you’ll balance strong governance with pragmatic delivery, translating financial and delivery data into meaningful insight for executive and board level stakeholders.

Who you are

You’re an experienced PMO or portfolio professional with a strong track record of operating at senior level, providing clear insight across complex change portfolios. You’re confident managing budgets, translating financial and delivery data into meaningful insight, and engaging credibly with executive-level stakeholders. You bring proven people management experience, sound judgement, and a pragmatic approach that balances strong governance with delivery. Collaborative, analytical and improvement focused, you’re comfortable challenging constructively to drive better outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and deliver clear, accurate and insightful portfolio level reporting, including Board papers, highlighting risks, issues, trends and delivery confidence.

  • Lead portfolio value management, including central budget oversight, forecasting, OPEX and CAPEX controls, and close financial interlocks with Finance.

  • Provide senior level insight and challenge to sponsors and leaders, holding them to account for benefits realisation, delivery outcomes and value.

  • Lead and continuously improve PMO governance, ensuring consistent standards across risk, issue, dependency, change and benefits management.

  • Manage and develop a team of PMO professionals, currently including direct line management of at least two colleagues, with scope to grow as the portfolio evolves.

  • Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, confidently engaging at executive level and facilitating forums such as monthly SAT and governance boards.

  • Translate complex delivery and financial information into clear, accessible insight for nontechnical audiences.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across portfolio reporting, tools, processes and ways of working.

What we can offer you

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as a competitive salary we will also offer:

  • 27 days annual leave + 8 days bank holiday with the option to buy additional weeks leave.

  • Car Allowance

  • A Smarter Working Policy, empowering you to choose the location of how and where you work according to your daily activities.

  • Car Allowance

  • Training and development opportunities, providing opportunities for our colleagues to develop and progress their careers at all levels through our Professional Excellence Framework.

  • SMART Pension contribution into which the company will contribute up to 6%

  • A range of flexible benefits including NHS retail discounts and Cycle to Work Scheme.

  • We have a great Colleague Assistance Programme and offer support for all areas of life.

An organisation with a purpose…

We are an organisation with a passion for giving back. Putting money back into the NHS, raising £150,000 over 3 years for our charity partner Young Lives vs Cancer, supporting colleagues to volunteer within their local communities, and being committed to creating a sustainable working environment on our pledge to become net zero carbon by 2050. We understand that it’s important to feel like the work you do is having a meaningful impact on society, and through our approach to being a responsible business, we make sure that every colleague is given the opportunity to make a difference.

At NHS Property Services, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from disabled people and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace to support your needs.
