Job Description

At NHS Property Services, we believe our people are our greatest asset. That’s why we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our People Strategy - Get, Grow, and Keep Great People, is all about building a values-driven culture where colleagues and customers are at the heart of everything we do.

We’re looking for a Finance Analyst to play a key role in the processes that underpin cashflow and debt reporting. You’ll act as the gatekeeper of the cash reporting ledger, ensuring robust controls and governance so our reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned to working capital and debt management needs.

Who you are

You’re a detail‑driven finance professional who enjoys bringing clarity, control and insight to complex financial data. You have experience across cashflow reporting, forecasting, reconciliations and month‑end activity, and you take pride in ensuring data accuracy, strong governance and well‑controlled processes. Comfortable working with large datasets, you’re able to translate analysis into clear, meaningful insight for a range of stakeholders, supporting decision‑making, audit requirements and operational improvements. You bring a collaborative mindset, enjoy working across teams, and are motivated by continuous improvement, spotting opportunities to enhance reporting, streamline processes and adapt to evolving business needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance cashflow reporting to provide accurate daily, weekly and periodic visibility of the organisation’s cash position.
  • Prepare consolidated cashflow forecasts and support annual budget submissions for internal stakeholders and external reporting requirements.
  • Own key month‑end activities, including bank reconciliations, bad debt analysis, key ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee customer‑level data mapping and ensure debt reporting accuracy to support effective working capital and debt management.
  • Provide robust analysis and reporting to support dispute management, complex customer queries and audit requirements.
  • Identify and deliver reporting improvements, championing best practice and contributing to dashboards and performance measures.
  • Collaborate across Finance and the wider business, ensuring teams understand upstream and downstream impacts of cash and debt processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, supporting leadership, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and adapting to evolving business needs.

What we can offer you

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as a competitive salary we will also offer:

  • 27 days annual leave+ 8 days bank holiday with the option to buy additional weeks leave.
  • A Smarter Working Policy, empowering you to choose the location of how and where you work according to your daily activities.
  • Training and development opportunities, providing opportunities for our colleagues to develop and progress their careers at all levels through our Professional Excellence Framework.
  • SMART Pension contribution into which the company will contribute up to 6%
  • A range of flexible benefits including NHS retail discounts and Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • We have a great Colleague Assistance Programme and offer support for all areas of life.

An organisation with a purpose…

We are an organisation with a passion for giving back. Putting money back into the NHS, raising £150,000 over 3 years for our charity partner Young Lives vs Cancer, supporting colleagues to volunteer within their local communities, and being committed to creating a sustainable working environment on our pledge to become net zero carbon by 2050. We understand that it’s important to feel like the work you do is having a meaningful impact on society, and through our approach to being a responsible business, we make sure that every colleague is given the opportunity to make a difference.

At NHS Property Services, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from disabled people and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace to support your needs. If you require any support or adjustments, please let us know — we’re here to help

We celebrate diversity, and we are working hard to create an inclusive environment where people love to work and can fulfil their potential.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications.
