Job Description

NHS Property Services enables excellent patient care by acting as a trusted property advisor to the NHS by providing the best estate solutions. 


We manage 2,700 properties with 6,300 customers across England, which accounts for approximately 10% of the total NHS estate. Our properties range from listed buildings to new integrated care centres and include hospitals, GP practices and offices.

The Lease Advisory Team is expanding. Our customer base continues to grow and we are now partnering with several ICB’s to support both them and their customers to drive value from lease transactions and events.  


The role of the Senior Lease Advisory Manger is to strategically manage and report on a portfolio of head lease and sub lease event activity. Protecting business operations in core leasehold sites through the effective managing of lease events. Delivering value for money though the proactive management of lease events. Ensuring that all lease events are managed in an effective and timely manner and to support customers in the management of their leasehold estate when required. 


What you will do  

This initial 12-month fixed term contract will support our BAU and customer growth, dependant on need and demand. We have active enquiries from the wider NHS with potential for pilot projects and new customer SLA’s, together with a significant existing lease event schedule.

Salary on offer is from £52,500. 

 

Who you are  

  • You will be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS / FRICS) with a minimum of 2+ years post qualification experience.
  • You will be customer centric and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • You will have a detailed understanding of landlord and tenant law, lease interpretation and strategic asset management. 
  • You will be able to apply valuation principles to the management of leasehold events. 
  • You will be an expert negotiator and be able to apply this to lease events such as rent reviews, break options, lease re-gears and lease renewals. 
  • Experience in inspecting and measuring premises in accordance with RICS best practice. 
  • Be able to report recommendations to the business and secure internal approvals. 
  • Have a passion for data accuracy; are enthusiastic and determined. 
  • Experience of managing property agents and solicitors and holding them to account for performance  
  • Track record of success in professional area 
  • Although not essential you will have experience working within the healthcare property environment and have an understanding of the market drivers.
