Job Description

At NHS Property Services, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a meaningful impact. As part of our mission to Get, Grow and Keep Great People, we continue to strengthen how we deliver safe, sustainable and high-performing services across our estate.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically capable Junior Site Support Engineer to join our expanding Technology Services team, supporting sites across the South Region.

About the Role

As a Junior Site Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining IT services across multiple NHSPS locations. This is a hands-on, varied role combining business-as-usual support with involvement in site-based projects including new deployments, relocations and decommissioning activities. Working closely with the Site Support Manager and wider technical teams, you will help deliver reliable and effective IT infrastructure across our estate – from networking and end user computing (EUC), to AV, voice connectivity and on-site technologies such as CCTV and access systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise across a broad technology stack while contributing to the delivery of critical services that support healthcare environments.

Who You Are

You are a proactive and adaptable IT professional with a strong technical foundation and a willingness to learn. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, field-based environment and are confident engaging with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver practical solutions. You bring a hands-on approach to problem solving, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. You’re comfortable working across multiple sites and technologies, and you take pride in ensuring systems are installed, maintained and documented to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to sites across the South Region to install, troubleshoot, maintain and recover IT hardware and infrastructure.
  • Support the delivery of network, AV, EUC and voice installations in line with agreed designs and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Technology Services teams and wider business stakeholders to plan and execute site surveys, installations and project rollouts.
  • Assist with the configuration, coordination and deployment of equipment, ensuring readiness for site installation.
  • Conduct technical site surveys, including infrastructure discovery, documentation and readiness assessments for occupancy.
  • Carry out cellular and Wi-Fi surveys to assess signal strength, coverage and provider suitability.
  • Work with telecom providers to ensure correct circuits are installed in appropriate locations.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of supporting technologies such as CCTV, door access systems and meeting room AV equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, ensuring ITSM tools and documentation are up to date and aligned to standards.
  • Work collaboratively to identify and resolve issues, contributing to continuous improvement and service reliability.
  • Can handle routine tasks and social interactions within a work environment. Ability to absorb policy and guidance necessary for the role.

Where you’ll be

This is a permanent role supporting sites across the South Region, with a primary base at our London 10SC hub. Regular travel to NHSPS locations is required, so flexibility and a willingness to work across multiple sites is essential. Van will also be included.

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as a competitive salary we will also offer:

  • 27 days annual leave+ 8 days bank holiday with the option of buying additional weeks’ leave.
  • Training and development opportunities, providing opportunities for our colleagues to develop and progress their careers at all levels through our Professional Excellence Framework.
  • SMART Pension contribution to which the company will contribute up to 6%
  • A range of flexible benefits, including NHS retail discounts and Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • We have a great Colleague Assistance Programme and offer support for all areas of life.

We understand that it’s important to feel like the work you do is having a meaningful impact on society, and through our approach to being responsible for business, we make sure that every colleague is given the opportunity to make a difference.

At NHS Property Services, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
